Welcome
to Ballywarren Country House, our lovely family home, set in six
acres of land and surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery
on the Atlantic coast of Ireland.
We have been hosting guests from all over the
world since 1980 and it is a joy for us to offer hospitality to
so many interesting people. We try to ensure that our guests feel
at home and our aim is to offer the best possible service, without
intruding on their privacy during their stay with us.
Ballywarren has been sympathetically furnished
and decorated in late 18th century style and features open fires,
an oak staircase and a galleried landing. All bedrooms and sitting
rooms have FREE WIFI broadband access. Outside there is a large
garden for the use of guests during the summer and, down the lane,
a few minutes' walk will take you to nearby Lake Corrib. Apart from
grazing sheep there is little to disturb the tranquillity of this
setting.
Local attractions include a choice of golf courses,
an Equestrian Centre, a Falconry School and fishing on the lough
- we even have our own Ghillie. The Connemara National Park is only
minutes down the road and this area of outstanding natural beauty
is not to be missed. Connemara is an endless source of inspiration
to both artists and creative writers, and in the constantly changing
light the drive towards the Atlantic coast is never the same twice.
We do have a little rain in this part of Ireland!
During wet weather, or if you just prefer to be indoors for a while,
you might like to make use of our two very cosy sitting rooms. Please
feel free to read, play chess, solitaire, cards or any of the other
board games provided.
We hope that you can spend some time with us in this wonderful part
of Ireland and leave refreshed in body and spirit.
